The Matador is located on Lake LBJ and has a beach area right off the porch.  The Matador is located on Log Country Cove property and is managed by Log Country Cove, with 20+ years of 5 star hospitality in the Kingsland Area.  This cabin can sleep up to 8 people.  Non-motorized items included in your stay.

  We rented the Matador for four days over the 2024 eclipse. It was clean, cozy, nicely appointed, and a fine place to stay. It's right on the water, pleasant other cabins nearby, and easy to get to. It's a wonderful place for four people. One consideration is that the second bedroom has its bath next to it, not en suite, but it didn't bother us. It was even a fine place to just hang out on a day with thunderstorms.

  It was very easy to rent our cabin. The website was helpful but we also had a phone call in which the staff answered any additional questions before arrival. The cabin was better than expected. It easily slept our large family of 8. It was clean and in good condition. The property has many activities for the kids. We rented jet skis and paddle boards over several days and had a great experience. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals. We have already booked our stay for next year. We are looking forward to returning.

  This was our first time visiting Log Country Cove. We will definitely be back next year. We will hopefully be staying in a different cabin with a pool or hot tub. The only con's for our cabin was that we could not locate the DVD remote, the upstairs loft did not have a door to close, and we did not have an actual BBQ pit, only a fire pit with a grate to cook on. The property was clean and very kid friendly. Overall, we will definitely be back to Log Country Cove.

  We rented 3 cabins for my grandson’s graduation. The Matador was nice, but a bit to much furniture. It shows 2 bedroom but the downstairs bedroom is very small. The extra bedroom, basement, was nice. The outside was wonderful!!

  The log cabin is delightfully furnished! Beautifully nestled in a native pecan orchard on the shore of Lake LBJ! Great little cove with dock for our kayaks and waverunners and big yard with fire pit and picnic table! Have lived nearby for 40 years and this was a staycation at home deluxe.   I believe there could be a in cabin stairway built to make use of the basement for access to the sleeping area. if traveling with young children it is not ideal and the twice we have rented the matador we have not used the area but in the future we would like to bring friends and we really do like the matador location and main floor arrangement. one othere thing some of the dinette chairs are getting quite ricky and wobbly!!

  The getaway was perfect for our family - very refreshing to have new scenery. I wish I had read the cabin description better as two of the beds were in the basement with access only from an exterior door. Fine for older teens/adults but didn't work for our kids. There was plenty room in the main part of the cabin so not a problem!
  We mostly spent time on the water - fishing, swimming and kayaking. We rented a golf cart (although it was not needed to get around) and had fun taking little drives around the grounds to spot wildlife. The 9 hole putt-putt was a hit with the kids along with the rope swing and water trampoline. We were there on weekdays so it was pretty quiet with few other guests around. No restaurants/shopping super close by but we expected that. It was not a far drive to the nearby town when we needed to pick up a few things from the store and we were able to have pizza delivered one evening. We enjoyed our stay!

  The Matador is nice. The basement room is very confining and not adequately described on the website. The king and queen bed are located in the basement with no air conditioner. It’s not a space that can be use by claustrophobic people. The upper part of the house is cute and the outside of the house is amazing.

    Wendy, Thank you for the review. We just replaced the AC in this home and noticed the duct had fallen off that supplies the basement. This has been fixed. We will look into the description and adjust. Thanks, LCC
