The Steen is a 1 bedroom 1 bath log cabin located on Lake LBJ.  The Steen is located on Log Country Cove property and is managed by Log Country Cove, with 20+ years of 5 star hospitality in the Kingsland Area.  This cabin can sleep up to 4 guests with great views of the lake.  Non-motorized items included in your stay.

  The house is a 3-level home, I love the kitchen setup, the views and how tranquil it was. The only down is the stairs, they are too slim it was hard for our luggage to fit, other than that we loved it and definitely would come back again.

  This one-bedroom cabin (The Steen) was perfect for our Anniversary get-away! We loved sitting on the balcony watching boats go by, kids swimming, and we also saw turtles and fish swimming too.
  We liked that our cabin was within walking distance to the office, commons area, and beach where we launched out in kayaks for a relaxing paddle through the cove.
  When it got too hot outside, we enjoyed watching movies in the living room on the first floor. The couch was even long enough for my 6-foot-tall husband to stretch out on, while I enjoyed the rocking recliner.
  The small kitchen on the second floor was plenty big for the 2 of us. The bedroom being on the 3rd floor made it feel like we were sleeping in a treehouse - so fun!
  It was a bit of a challenge getting our luggage up and down the steep, tight spiral staircase, but we managed. FYI, this cabin would not be good for someone with knee-trouble, since the bathroom is on the third floor.
  All the staff and other guests were very friendly and the entire resort was so beautiful and well-kept. We would like to come back and bring our whole family.

  We rented the steam for our anniversary and my husband’s birthday and we had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so well-maintained, clean, cute and right on the water. We loved it. We are in our mid 70s and it was fine with the corner staircase. Just watch that last step into the kitchen. Ha ha.

  This was a great place to spend a few days and nights. We were here on weekdays in the off season, so there were very few people at Log Country Cove. It was quiet and there was no problem getting kayaks, etc. The cabin is very clean and well maintained in general. The lock on the door to the outside is a bit tricky and often required a few attempts to get it open. The spiral staircase is about as narrow as one can possibly be, so it helps to be a narrow person when climbing it! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. We plan to return!

  This was our first time staying at a property like this one. The main thing that sticks out in my mind is how everyone of the staff that we came in contact with was so friendly and helpful. We visited Crazy Gals Cafe in Kingsland for an awesome breakfast. We spent a day at Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn Cavern State Park. We also had an awesome Sunday snack at Torr Na Lochs Vineyard and Winery. We will definitely be staying at Log Country Cove again.

  Cute lakefront cabin, just as described. Comfortable, with a fantastic view of the water from three outside sitting areas. Wi-Fi and DirectTV and AC worked great. Lots of activities available through Log Country Cove resort. Top-floor bedroom with lots of privacy. Adorable kitchen on the main level, and comfy sitting room w/ TV in the lower level. Perfect location close to area wineries, Marble Falls, and Kingsland. There are two spiral staircases. We were able to navigate them with no problems.

  It was amazing we had so much fun. There is a ton of things to see and do and will keep the kiddos busy for hours. They have the game horse shoes at every cabin. Near the office they have a lot of games like volleyball basketball ect. and safe swimming area in the lake. They have boats and water bike rentals.   Needed to getaway from the city on short notice. My wife found the Honeymoon Cabin and to our luck it was available. Staff was very helpful and allowed us to check in virtually. The cabin was super clean and situated right on the water. The cabin provided gorgeous views and was a wonderful getaway for us. We enjoyed eating out on the town. Kingsland provided great restaurants with great entertainment. We look forward to staying here again in the near future!

  This cabin is beautiful! The area is so secluded and relaxing. My family needed a getaway, and this was the perfect spot. Many of the reviews I came across led me to believe that we would need to bring everything including sheets for the pullout bed on the first floor. This cabin was supplied with mostly everything you will need, including the sheets. The cabin had a coffee maker, silverware, BBQ utensils, cooking utensils, pots and pans, towels, blankets, microwave, toaster, plates, bowls, dish detergent, hand towels, and coffee mugs. You may need to bring an extra roll of toilet paper . I loved the jetted tub! Now, some things that I wish I was more aware of prior to booking include the narrow I mean NARROW staircase that takes you to each floor. For me it was a workout. I didn’t mind it so much but for my Mother-in-Law, it was more challenging. I found myself crawling up these stairs to give my thighs a break lol. This was not a deal breaker for me though. However, I would not recommend this cabin to anyone with knee problems, balance issues, or if heavy drinking is in the itinerary LOL! WATCH YOUR STEP!!! =) The views from the balconies are breathtaking and the river is right In front of the cabin. The staff was so helpful and easy to reach. Now a few things that we noticed before we left include the leaky fossette in the bathroom and a minor leak in the roof on the bottom floor. We think that it might have been from the kitchen sink pipes but we did not investigate. Also, not all the lights were working. Lastly and most notably, the kitchen floor squeaks horribly. This wouldn’t be an issue if it were just my Husband and I but because we had family sleeping on the bottom floor it was an issue. Overall, This cabin was very cozy and really did help us all relax. We all loved this cabin and even plan to come back very soon!

  My husband and I stayed in Steen for three nights during our honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there! The staff was helpful and the cabin was cute and just what we were looking for. The common area for water access was nice and just a short walk from the cabin, and the hiking trail was very enjoyable and had a nice variety of terrain and a plethora of wild flowers. HEB was just a short drive away. We would grill our dinner and sit on the balcony overlooking the water. My only suggestion would be to work on the path from the main stairs from the kitchen to the first floor porch/grill area. It would be nice to have some some steps or just smooth it out a bit so when you're grilling it's easier to get from the grill to the kitchen. That was the only thing I would change about it. The cabin location was right on the water and set slightly apart from the others so you had some privacy. I was worried that it would be a busy place (especially the common area) with it being mid June, but I was pleasantly surprised about how chill it was there. We plan on coming back because we enjoyed our stay so much!

  We love the serenity of Log Country Cove. We have stayed here before and actually in the same cabin because it is closest to the water. We may try a different cabin next time simply because the spiral staircase to the 1st floor and also to the 3rd floor can be a bit challenging with suitcases and 70 yr old legs:) But the view is wonderful and you feel like you are in a treehouse. The kitchen is the only thing on the main/2nd level and has most of what you will need, dishwasher, full stove and fridge, utensils, silverware, dishware, glasses etc. Serving dishes are few but all was fine for us. The only bathroom is on the 3rd floor where the king bed is so if you have more than a couple staying, keep that in mind. The bottom floor has a sleeper sofa and tv in case you have more than 2 staying. Remember this is a cabin so things are a bit rustic but still all good. Its close to Kingsland, Burnet and Marble Falls and a little over an hour to Wimberly (also a favorite of ours). We always take a cooler of food with us because dining in this area is limited. The one place we like to go is Lestourgeon Seafood Company. Its $$$ priced but food is great offerring something other than fried catfish:) Enjoy your stay!

  We had a wonderful weekend in our cabin at Log Country Cove. The whole property is gorgeous, with a perfect atmosphere of lively and peaceful. There is plenty to do on the property but we also had the chance to go hiking at Inks Lake state park and tour the Longhorn Cavern, both of which are very close.

  Our family had a great time at Log Country Cove getting away from everything! Every single staff member we ran across was very kind and genuinely happy to help answer questions and just make sure everyone was having a good time. The Steen worked well for us but would probably work better for families with older kids who feel more comfortable sleeping on the first floor pull-out. We just let the kids have the upstairs! Great spot though convenient to all the amenities. Highly recommend!

  Nice quiet 2 day get away. Beautiful property, and a great view of the lake. Cabin was cute and clean. Spiral staircase was a little difficult getting suitcase up and down. We really only used the kitchen, bedroom and balcony during our stay. Was there to get away from TV and the hustle and bustle of work.

  Loved the location and especially the hiking trail connected to the property. The cabin was very nice but couldn't get the TV to get to channels (no signal) and there were no linens for the couch pull out bed downstairs. Small issues compared to how nice our overall stay was.

  I would recommend Log Country Cove, but not the Steen. Very inconvenient to have the only bathroom on the top level. Too much walking up and down stairs with bedroom on one level, kitchen on another level, and living area on the bottom level. Not a good floor plan, but a great location on the lake. We will be back, but will rent a different unit.

  Enjoyed our week walking the trails, using some of the equipment in the activities area, hanging out in the comfy garden chairs or on our beautiful wooden deck in the rockers. It was October, so not a lot of activity or noise. Since most of the cabins are spaced widely apart, we didn't feel crowded. The water was great, since we stayed before the tremendous flood the hill country experienced during the middle of October. We will def be back to stay again. *I would not have one single complaint about the property, the cabin, or the staff that were very friendly and helpful... i would just like the management to know that the cleaning crew showed up 30 min before checkout time and camped out on our deck with all their paraphernalia as we packed up and loaded our car. We thought that was very rude, and even invited them to wait in their car until we vacated the cabin - but they ignored us. This was very uncomfortable for us, and very inappropriate. We hope this behavior will be addressed by the management and stopped.
