This was our first time at Log Country Cove and we absolutely loved our weeklong stay at Dustin Layne. We have 3 kids (9, 6, 3) who said it was the best vacation we've ever had! My mom stayed with us and my sister came for a few days with her 2 kids and it never felt crowded - plenty of space! We cooked each meal and had everything we needed except a large pot for cooking pasta so my sister brought her own. There were plenty of dishes, utensils, bath towels for us all for the week. We also appreciated that there were plenty of life vests for borrowing as well as several bags of sand toys the kids got to use each day. One huge perk of staying at Dustin Layne was getting to enjoy coffee on the porch each morning while the kids could enjoy the commons area (putt putt, swings, small play structure) within our view. We loved staying so close to it all! We spent every day in the beautiful porch-like ledge in the beach area while the kids played for hours in the sand and water and we were hugely grateful for the beautiful shade trees that kept the beach area shady for most of the day. In fact, we were impressed by ALL the shade trees covering so much of the commons area that kept us cool and allowed the kids to play without too much sun exposure. Favorite activities were renting paddle boards to explore the back cove areas (saw tons of turtles) and renting a wave runner to hang out on the sandbar that was only about a 10 minute ride away. Our kids absolutely loved the trampoline on the water! The views from our cabin were gorgeous - especially during dusk. We made so many wonderful memories here and will most definitely be back! We are already talking about our return visit!

House was better in person, absolutely loved it! Amenities were great right at your doorstep. House was clean and spacious. Good fishing too! Only downside was everyone staying gets a bracelet to access the amenities, when the office closed, a couple hours later a group of 15 or so teenagers came and basically took over everything. Even the playground for little kids lol. We decided it was best to just go back in the house.They weren’t guests none of them had bracelets. They started partying and left broken glass from beer bottles everywhere and didn’t leave until very late at night. It was annoying but we didn’t let it ruin our wonderful stay.

Stayed for the weekend with my family and my brother's family in the Dustin Layne. All the kids had a blast. Lots of open space to play games. Cabins are far enough away but for privacy, but close enough to walk cabin to cabin.

We had a great time at Log Country Cove. Dustin Layne is a great cabin. Close to all the activities for the kids. All the staff were incredible. We had a toilet issue (grandkids) that was immediately taken care of. Jet ski breakdown and the office quickly sent help to tow us in. At check out we reserved our cabin again for next year. Only downside was the TV cable service did not always work, but a minimum inconvenience compared to the great time we had.

I took my kids and four teenage grandkids to this property, and within the first two days, the grandkids were saying we had to make this a new tradition. The house has that "warm and cozy" feel. The grounds are beautiful. We got to make our traditional s'mores in the firepit right outside our door. I loved the convenience of renting the pontoon boat and the Sea Doo, and pulling right up to the property. An extra bonus was going into Kingsland (only 8 minutes away) and eating dinner at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house.

Nice place, great staff, everything clean and mostly everything provided. Only two issues, really. 1) probably need more toilet paper or more heads up to bring enough. 2) kayak had a hole...took on water and had to pull from lake (but they did not charge us for any of the kayaks bc of that). We have young children (1 and 3 years old) and were looking for a relatively remote, but convenient location to spend some time together. This was the first time the kids had been away from home. This was a perfect getaway with the kids. We enjoyed taking hikes around the property, kayaking, and exploring the area. This cabin was perfect for a family of four. Although this home could fit many more people, it was great for our family of four since it has 3 private bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There were many convenient feature for a young family too, such as DirectTV, and other items to occupy the kids. The online pictures and description of the home are accurate. This is a good location on the property with young kids, since it's close to playgrounds, putt-putt golf, and the lake. We'd visit again!

Our third visit and first to Dustin Layne. Absolutely perfect location for water usage along with all the amenities offered. So tranquil sitting on the porch looking at the beautiful trees and water. The house itself is cozy yet beautiful. The Martins go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy. We did not want to leave and already planning our next stay.

We have been spending our family reunion Thanksgiving tradition at the Dustin Layne Cabins for ten years and absolutely love the peaceful, beautiful, pristine atmosphere. Our family takes advantage of all the wonderful amenities, fishing, riding pontoons, paddle boats, nature walks, horseshoe and minigolf games, volleyball, swinging by the water side. We have always cooked every meal in the fully furnished kitchen to include a complete traditional Turkey/Ham Thanksgiving dinner. Our treasured group family photos are always taken in the natural settings of this gorgeous Country Cove Cabin. The loving memories of 'roasting smores' at the firepit just continue even with our "newest" generation of family.This Thanksgiving tradition is our most anticipated event of the year. We have come to know and love Ellen and staff in the office like family. They are always available to answer questions,and help us with any concern we may have. Every trip has been just perfect. As long as God wills, we hope to continue our tradition.
